Addicted to the Internet?

I'm wondering if anyone seriously considers themselves addicted to the net. I don't do drugs but I honestly think I'm a net addict. I keep trying to do other things and I don't want to be online all the time, but I keep thinking "oh! I need to do this," or "what if someone sent me an e-mail or replied to a post" etc. I wake up and first thing I do after my daily routine is to check my e-mail. I go on The Zone or Livejournal all the time, and when there's nothing to do there, I either sit and look up shit or I listen to music. I used to think that it's because I was blind and had nowhere to go, no one to meet or nothing to do but now, I'm not too sure. When I did that telemarketing job, I'd often chat on Skype instead of my work. I chat on skype anyway, but at least, I've managed to cut down on that. To many stupid fucking people who can't speak english, too much asking for webcam sex etc. The only time I don't think about being online is when I'm with Spiros or out with my family.

I have to learn Greek, which though it's online, is different cause that's the only way I could do it. I have to practise bouzouki but don't put effort into it so I'm still not able to play as I'd like. I have to find other things to do to keep me occupied. I always say how blind people are emmersed in books but maybe, it'll be good for me and I do like writing as well, but since it's on the computer, I always have access to the net. I also need to start posting for my business. I am L A Z Y and that's very very bad and will hurt me in the longrun. I need! to get this off the ground and while there isn't much I can do when I'm not partying, I can at least post adds.

So anyway, do you have suggestions as to offline things I could do? What do you do when you feel that the net is taking over your life?

I think I am the same way, well I know I am the same way, okay so if I am traveling and I am in a airport, I ask the people for the internet connection room, now is that bad. I can't be with out it. But I do read, I do write, and do listen to music.

things to do that are not on the computer...hmmmm wel there is that TV thing, but I do not like TV, I do like movies, but that can get boring quickly. I crochet, or something crafty, but can only do that for so long. Of course I do and take walks go and get out of the house. I know that others will be of better help when it comes to this...

just because you are on the computer does not mean you do not have a life. LOL

I don't take walks because my mobility sucks. Yes, it's my problem and I know that. When I'm away from the computer, it doesn't bother me. But when I have access to the net, it's like I can't stay away from it. It eats up hours of my time. Even Spiros says that I'm on all the time and need to get off. I'd love to get into bingo or cards but need to find places around here that do it.

I do try to find other things to do sometimes though.

I'm pon the net all the time. Every morning before I go to school I get on the net and check my email, browse videos on youtube, or download books from web braille. When i get home I'm on the net unless i'm doing homework, eating dinner, por watching a favorite tv show.

Lol tiff, I use to wonder that about myself for the reasons that have been mentioned here.

Now, fortunately I'm not as bad, but i remember I could never study properly cos i'd always want to check who "that last email" was from, or just check who's on msn one more time, or if LJ has been updated, etc, etc.
I found it hard to be away from the net for more than a day, but now I can actually quite happily go away on long holidays with my Iriver only; yeah for that! :)
